ABUJA – Publisher of Nigerian Standard Newspaper, Akin Alade, has congratulated Dr. Zainab Marwa on her nomination to the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
President Tinubu recently requested the Senate to confirm Dr. Marwa’s appointment as the North-East representative on the NDDC Governing Board following the resignation of former board member Abdulrazak Namdas.
In a congratulatory statement made available to journalists, Alade described the nomination as a significant milestone for inclusive governance, gender representation, and national development.
According to him, Dr. Marwa’s emergence on the board reflects her competence, leadership capacity, and commitment to public service.
“Her nomination is not merely a personal achievement; it is a victory for Nigerian women, young professionals, and advocates of merit-based leadership,” Alade stated.
He noted that the appointment comes at a crucial time when the NDDC is intensifying efforts aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, youth empowerment, economic growth, and regional stability across the Niger Delta region.
Alade further commended the Federal Government for what he described as its commitment to ensuring that capable individuals from different parts of the country contribute meaningfully to national development.
The media consultant and publisher expressed confidence that Dr. Marwa would bring innovation, fresh perspectives, and a results-driven approach to the commission’s operations.
“As a journalist, media consultant, and publisher who has followed leadership developments across Nigeria for decades, I believe Dr. Zainab Marwa possesses the qualities required to make a positive impact. Her nomination reflects confidence in her ability to contribute to policies and initiatives that will improve the lives of millions of Nigerians,” he said.
Alade described the appointment as a recognition of years of dedication, excellence, and service, adding that he was confident Dr. Marwa would justify the trust reposed in her by President Tinubu and the Nigerian people.
He expressed optimism that her appointment would inspire more women to pursue leadership positions while contributing significantly to the growth and transformation of the Niger Delta region and the country at large.
“On behalf of myself, my family, associates, and the management of Nigerian Standard Newspaper, I congratulate Dr. Zainab Marwa on this well-deserved appointment and wish her a successful and impactful tenure on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission,” Alade said.
