ABUJA – Following the directives of the House of Representatives, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced indefinite postponement of the 2024 Staff Promotion Examination.
The examination, slater for February 14-15 in Minna, Niger State was put on hold as directed by the Committee on Basic Examination Bodies of the House of Representatives.
A statement by Acting Director, Directorate of Information and Digital Communication, Azeez Sani, informed all NECO Staff who are due for promotion in 2024 were told that the exercise has been put on hold indefinitely.
The Examination Body had sent a memo to its offices directing the staff across Nigeria to converge on the NECO headquarters in Minna to write the promotional examinations.
The House of Representatives in reference to the memo said that it is not economically viable for the staff to leave their offices and regional branches, especially following the economic hardship faced by Nigerians.
