Ogun 2027: Jagunmolu 4 YAYI Volunteers Mobilize 10,000 For Mega Solidarity Walk in Yewa North
ABEOKUTA – Determined to build and rally massive grassroots support across Yewa North Local Government Area for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola otherwise known as Yayi, a youth political support group, Jagunmolu 4 YAYI Volunteers, has concluded plans to organise a 10,000-man solidarity walk.
In a release jointly signed by the Convener and the General Secretary of the group, Olumide Abiodun (Olumighty) and Surajudeen Ogunyemi (Sudeen) respectively, Ayetoro, the headquarters of Yewa North LG has been designated as the convergence point for members drawn from the 11 wards.
The statement explained that the exercise is part of efforts to strengthen grassroots coordination, mobilize the youths and demonstrate the group’s organisational capacity ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Abiodun and Ogunyemi noted that the mobilization would bring together members across the wards in support of all party’s candidates in the LG, particularly the APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Adeola.
“The Jagunmolu 4 YAYI Volunteers is not a new formation, but an established youth-based support group with a growing presence across the 11 wards of Yewa North. The group has continued to engage young people and grassroots stakeholders through sustained mobilisation, advocacy and community-level interaction, providing a platform for channelling the energy and organisational capacity of youths towards its political objectives.
“Therefore, this exercise is part of efforts to strengthen grassroots coordination and demonstrate the group’s organisational capacity ahead of the forthcoming elections.
“The planned walk reflects the growing structure of this youth-based group across the 11 wards and its determination to deepen engagement at the grassroots. Our membership cuts across the 11 wards, and we have concluded plans to bring our people together at Ayetoro for this major mobilization. It is an opportunity to further strengthen our coordination, demonstrate our readiness and engage our people, particularly the youths as the elections approach,” the statement stressed.
The group described the State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Jamiu Akande Omoniyi as a proud ambassador of the Yewa North LG and avid supporter of the youths, pointing out that his activities in public service and continued engagement with the political and non-political class have contributed to the pride of his people.
They commended Omoniyi’s commitment to service delivery in the housing sector, noting that he has continued to raise the bar of performance.
The statement further acknowledged Omoniyi’s longstanding support for his kinsmen and his consistent association with the Senator Adeola’s gubernatorial project over the decade.
“Jagunmolu remains a proud ambassador of our local government. Beyond his responsibilities in public office, he has consistently identified with and supported his people, particularly in the pursuit of the long-standing Ogun West gubernatorial aspiration,” the Jagunmolu 4 YAYI Volunteers emphasized.
The Convener and the General Secretary stressed that the group considered Omoniyi’s combination of public service, community engagement and political participation a reflection of the values underpinning the Jagunmolu 4 YAYI Volunteers platform, which according to them is to ensure that Senator Adeola poll massive votes in Yewa North and beyond.
The release stated further that the youth group would continue to strengthen its structures across the 11 wards while working with relevant leaders, pressure groups, stakeholders and supporters as preparations for the elections intensify.
“We want this mobilization to be sustained beyond the walk. Our members must remain connected with their wards and communities, because effective grassroots engagement requires consistency, coordination and continued interaction with the people,” the group said.
The group also declared that it will soon embark on sensitization campaigns and awareness to market President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda mantra, Senator Adeola’s Nine-Pillar ITESIWAJU Agenda, as well as other APC candidates across the local government, with the aim of ensuring a landslide victory for the party in the 2027 poll.
It, however, disclosed that further details concerning the date, starting points, route and other logistics for the walk would be communicated as preparations are concluded.
