ABEOKUTA – The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, has assured all ethnic nationalities living in the state that his administration will prioritize their security and protect their businesses if elected in the 2027 governorship election.
The assurance was given on Tuesday during a meeting with the leadership and stakeholders of the Arewa Community drawn from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State at YAYI’s Senatorial Constituency Office in Ilaro.
Senator Adeola expressed appreciation to the Arewa Community for what he described as their “overwhelming support and goodwill towards his governorship aspiration”.
He noted that the community had demonstrated confidence in his leadership even he was yet to formally seek their endorsement, describing the gesture as a reflection of the trust they have in his commitment to good governance and inclusive development.
“I sincerely appreciate the support you have continued to show me. What is remarkable is that many of you have stood by me even before I officially came to ask for your support. I do not take this confidence for granted”, YAYI said.
The senator assured the community that the protection of lives, property and lawful businesses would remain a top priority of his administration, stressing that a secure environment is essential for economic growth and peaceful coexistence. He added that his government would implement measures that would guarantee the safety of all residents of Ogun State irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
According to him, “I want to assure that the security and the protection of your businesses will receive utmost attention under my administration. Every resident who contributes positively to the development of Ogun State deserves to live and conduct legitimate business without fear”.
Earlier in his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Inter-Ethnic Affairs, Prince Hadi Sanni, commended Senator Adeola for his leadership qualities and developmental contributions to Ogun State through his representation in the National Assembly.
Sanni described YAYI as a tested and dependable leader whose track record has continued to inspire confidence among diverse groups across the state.
“My incoming governor, we want to assure you that the Arewa Community has resolved to give its total support to the APC governorship candidate ahead of the February 2027 governorship election. We are confident that your emergence would usher in greater development, peace and prosperity for Ogun State”, He stated.
