ABEOKUTA – As part of preparation to discover more talents for the 2024 National Sports Festival billed to be hosted by Ogun State, the state boxing association is organizing a 3-Day championship for secondary school boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 16years.
The boxing championship is in conjunction with Ogun State Boxing Club Coaches Association and Tit4Tat Boxing Academy.
According a press release by the Media Officer, Ogun State Boxing Association, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, the bouts will hold at the Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja, Abeokuta between 5th and 7th January, 2023.
Ogunsiji said the maiden edition of the championship will explore the potentials of young athletes in the state.
According to the statement, the Chairman, Ogun State Boxing Association, Mr. Chris Somide maintained that, the association is passionately committed to developing talented, professional young boxers in the state.
He said, the association would continue to provide training basis and platform to rediscover talents that will reposition the state.
