Ogun Customs Boss Bags FA Grassroots Football Devt Award

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Football Association has honoured the Assistant Controller, Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Ogun Area 1 Command, AC Usman Wunti with Grassroots Football Development Award.

Wunti who is the Chairman of, Nigeria Customs Service Football Team, Idiroko was recognized for his contributions and dedication to the promotion of Customs Football Club from State League to the Amateur League Division 2.

Recall that, the Nigeria Customs Service Football Club gained promotion from the Amateur League Division 3 to the National League Organization in 2022 season.

Reacting shortly after receiving his award, AC Usman Wunti thanked the Ogun State FA for the recognition with assurance that, the honour will spur him to thrive for more success in the 2023/24 NLO season.

Wunti who was represented by the Chief Coach, Nigeria Customs Service Football Club, Mr. Biliyu Fatai Adu urged other para-military agencies to encourage youths in their host communities by investing in sports development .

The Assistant Customs Controller maintained that the command would continue to empower the youths at the border areas to discourage them from smuggling through sports engagement.

He, however, assured that the Nigeria Customs Service Football Club would ensure promotion from from the NLO to the National Nationwide League (NNL) in the coming season.
