ABEOKUTA – It will be a clash of two Ogun State based football clubs on Sunday at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta, when Beyond Limit Football Academy, Ikenne and Stormers Sports Club of Abeokuta will lock horns in the final of the Ogun State Federation Cup beginning from 3pm.
The two sides are currently playing in the second tier Nigeria National League (NNL).
The women’s final will be preceding the grand finale of the competition by 1pm, when Remo Stars Ladies take on Castmog Football Club to determine who emerge as the female champions for the state
To reach the final, last season’s finalists Beyond Limit Football Academy defeated highly rated, Premier League team, Remo Stars via penalty shootout after the game finished a goal apiece in regulation time.
Beyond Limit who also got the better of Remo Stars in their last meeting in the Cup competition have now defeated the Sky Blue Stars consecutively in the State FA Cup.
For first time finalists Stormers Sports Club, they thrashed Ijebu United 4-0 in their semi final game in a scintillating fashion to qualify for the National Federation Cup for the first time in the Club’s history.
Now being tutored by Coach Saburi Omoyayi, a former player of Shooting Stars and the longest serving captain of Gateway United, Stormers Sports Club are gunning for their first piece of silverware against Beyond Limit FA that recently became the first African team to win the Viareggio Cup in Italy.
The two teams are already assured of featuring in the National Federation Cup which will get underway later in the year.
