Pelican Ecostay Apartments: Two-Bedroom Units Appreciate by ₦20m in One Year — Adeyemo

ABEOKUTA – Pelican-Valley Nigeria Limited says its commitment to integrity, timely delivery and investment security remains central to its real estate business.
The Chief Executive Officer of Pelican-Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo disclosed this on Saturday at the commissioning of the second phase of its Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments, announcing that the value of his two-bedroom apartment units has risen from ₦41 million to ₦61 million within one year.
The commissioning marks another milestone for the real estate company, which says it is focused on delivering modern housing solutions while providing investors with opportunities for capital appreciation and long-term wealth preservation.
Recall that the Phase I of the development was commissioned on September 11, 2024. During the ceremony, Aremo Olusegun Osoba Drive was unveiled and named in honour of former Ogun State Governor and elder statesman, Chief Olusegun Osoba, in recognition of his rural electrification project in the area during his tenure.
Osoba’s intervention helped lay the groundwork for the development of Pelican-Valley’s multibillion-naira projects in the area some three decades later.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Phase II, held on Sunday, was performed by Mr Adedehinbo Adeyinka, a 60-year-old businessman and the first landlord at Pelican Valley Estate, Laderin.
New homeowners, including South Africa based, Prof. Oluboyo and a US based Mrs Adekola, received the keys and relevant documents for their Ecostay Apartments, enabling them to take possession of their properties with immediate effect.
The apartments were designed to combine contemporary residential comfort with environmentally conscious features.
Among the facilities highlighted by the company during the handover ceremony were automated security doors and access-control systems intended to enhance residents’ safety and facilitate movement within the estate.
The development is connected to the national electricity grid. However, in anticipation of growing demand for alternative energy sources, the company said the electrical wiring and fittings had been designed to accommodate solar power and inverter systems.
According to the company, the provision would give homeowners greater flexibility in adopting alternative energy solutions to manage electricity costs and improve the reliability of their household on public power supply.
The event attracted real estate professionals and other stakeholders, including Deji Ogundimu, a realtor and property consultant; Kayode Olaseinde, popularly known as Pa James, a television comedian and Pelican-Valley brand ambassador; and Adeyinka Adegbite, assistant general manager of Fresh 107.9FM, Abeokuta. Investors and other dignitaries were also in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Ogundimu, managing partner of Serrial Realty Forte Limited, commended Pelican-Valley’s chief executive, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, for his consistency, resilience and determination in the real estate business. He said the company’s capacity to deliver projects had helped build trust and dispel pessimism about real estate investment in Nigeria.
Ogundimu described Ecostay Apartments as a dream project that could encourage Nigerians in the diaspora to invest in property back home.
He said the development offered a serene environment and an ambience comparable to international residential standards, adding that initiatives of this nature could contribute to national development by attracting diaspora investment.
“Pelican-Valley’s consistency in this business is commendable, and that is what motivated me to identify with the company and come around to see things for myself. I’m impressed beyond words. This is a dream project,” he said.
“This is a laudable private initiative that will continue to encourage Nigerians in the diaspora to own homes in a serene environment. No doubt, this will help drive development. I’m highly impressed beyond words,” he added.
In their separate goodwill messages, the new homeowners, Oluboyo and Babatunde Adekola, alongside other dignitaries, including veteran journalist Moshood Adebayo, praised the managing director and chief executive officer of Pelican-Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, for his consistency, tenacity, humility and integrity, which they said had contributed to the successful completion and delivery of Phase II of Ecostay Apartments.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, captains of industry, members of the press and other guests, Adeyemo attributed the successful completion of the project to divine grace, strategic planning and the commitment of its project team.
He noted that the achievement came against the backdrop of economic uncertainties, rising inflation and other challenges confronting Nigeria’s construction and real estate sectors.
According to him, the appreciation in the value of the apartments demonstrates the potential of real estate investment when supported by strategic location, proper planning and effective project execution.
“Exactly one year ago, smart investors subscribed to these two-bedroom apartments for ₦41 million. Today, those same units are valued at ₦61 million. This represents an asset appreciation of ₦20 million in just 12 months,” he said.
The Pelican-Valley CEO described the increase as evidence of what he called the “Pelican Advantage,” a business approach centred on positioning investors to benefit from property appreciation while offering developments with established infrastructure and community presence.
He explained that Pelican-Valley’s investment proposition goes beyond the sale of land and buildings, stressing that the company seeks to provide investors with properties capable of preserving capital and supporting generational wealth.
He further stated that the estate is situated within a government-approved layout, which he said was intended to provide investors with greater assurance regarding planning and property documentation.
The developer also highlighted the estate’s existing community of resident landlords as an important feature, saying it reflects the company’s effort to build functional residential environments rather than merely sell properties.
On infrastructure, he said Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments combines modern residential features with environmentally conscious design and security measures.
According to him, the development incorporates automated security doors and logistics arrangements designed to improve accessibility and convenience for residents.
He added that although the estate is connected to the national electricity grid, its electrical wiring and fittings have been designed to accommodate solar energy and inverter systems, allowing residents to adopt alternative power sources with minimal difficulty.
The provision, he said, reflects the company’s consideration of future energy needs and the growing demand for more sustainable residential developments.
Adeyemo identified integrity, investor confidence and timely project delivery as the principles distinguishing Pelican-Valley Nigeria Limited in the property market.
He disclosed that a significant number of the company’s landlords had invested from outside Nigeria without meeting him physically, describing their decisions as evidence of the confidence they had placed in the company’s vision and reputation.
He said the completion of the second phase ahead of schedule was intended to reinforce that confidence, particularly among Nigerians in the diaspora and prospective international investors.
“What truly sets Pelican-Valley Nigeria Limited apart is our uncompromising integrity and record-time delivery. Remarkably, I have never physically met a vast majority of our landlords. They bought into our vision completely from abroad,” he said.
He assured existing and prospective investors that the company would continue to maintain its standards in project delivery, property security and customer relations.
He also expressed appreciation to members of the project team whose contributions, he said, were instrumental to the successful completion of the development.
He extended his gratitude to the company’s landlords for their continued trust and patronage, noting that their confidence remained a major motivation for its operations.
The commissioning of the second phase comes amid sustained interest in real estate as a potential hedge against inflation and a vehicle for long-term investment in Nigeria.
