Shooting Stars Coach Expresses Confidence Of Qualification Despite Slim First-Leg Lead

ABEOKUTA – Head Coach Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Salisu Yusuf has expressed confidence in securing qualification to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite recording a slim advantage in the first leg of their continental tie.
The Oluyole Warriors secured a positive result at home and will travel to Tunisia for the second leg determined to complete the job.

Speaking after the match, Coach Salisu Yusuf said his players could have won by a wider margin, having created several scoring opportunities.
He noted that the team’s performance had given him confidence ahead of the return leg, stressing that Shooting Stars would not travel to Tunisia simply to defend their advantage.
The coach said his experience of continental football, including a previous victory in Egypt while he was with Rangers, has strengthened his belief that the team can get a positive result away from home.
He added that despite joining the team only recently, noticeable improvements have already been made, with further progress expected in the coming months.
The coach who acknowledged that the second leg would be a difficult encounter expressed optimism that Shooting Stars can qualify.
He also praised the players for their efforts, saying the team’s return to continental football after 27 years has provided additional motivation.
Shooting Stars will now turn their attention to Tunisia, where they need to maintain their advantage and secure a result that will guarantee their progress in the competition.
