South West PDP Chieftain Charges Party Leadership On Victory For Atiku, Adebutu

IBADAN – The Chairman, Atiku Abubakar South-West Assembly (AASWA), Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale, has charged the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work hard for the emergence of the party’s presidential, governorship and other candidates in the 2023 general elections.

Ogunwale said the PDP remains the only party capable of rescuing Nigeria from poor governance and economic woes, stressing that the party must not lose the impending opportunity to change the country for good.

He spoke during the Atiku Support Groups and loyalists in South West Summit held at the Premier Hotel Ibadan, Oyo State.

The event with the theme, “Atiku/Okowa 2023: The Southwest Perspective,” was put together by AASWA, a group canvassing massive support for the PDP presidential candidate.

In his address, the AASWA Chairman noted that Atiku and the PDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, are accomplished leaders who require the necessary encouragement and collaboration to make their quest for good governance in the country achievable.

He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of failure to tackle the myriads of socio-economic and political challenges facing Nigerians.

The PDP chieftain, who decried the worsening foreign exchange crisis in the country, declared that the nation’s currency had lost its potency and integrity.

Ogunwale said, “The Naira is now N700 per dollar. The cost of cooking gas is high. The challenges facing us today are overwhelming.

“But our party still remains the best so far. We left the Nigerian Naira at just about N150 to a dollar. But the ruinous APC/Buhari government has turned it to N700.This is killing the economy, especially the foreign direct investment (FDI).

“Imports have become very costly venture and this is why the cost of living is so high today. The price of satchet water is so ridiculous at N25 each and when water is so expensive in our country, then we are fast becoming another Somalia.

“President Buhari and APC have normalised corruption to the extent that monkeys, rats and even termites are now billionaire scammers stealing from our common wealth.

“You will recall in 2019, Alhaji Atiku was rigged out by APC. The consequences of that electoral heist brazenly committed against the Nigerian voting population continue to reverberate in the polity. In the upcoming 2023 elections, I am bold to say our time has come.

“PDP will be back in 2023 to give Nigerians the hope they deserve from this hopelessness. PDP is the party that will change Nigeria for good. PDP is the only party with the capacity to remove the behemoths in government that keep our people down in every ramifications.”

Also speaking, the Director of Campaign to Atiku Abubakar, Mr Oladimeji Fabiyi, described the PDP presidential candidate as the only one with the capacity to reset the country.
