ABAKALIKI – Barely 72 hours after the dissolution of Coordinators of Development Centers in Ebonyi State, Governor David Umahi on Wednesday appointed 30 of them as his Special Assistants.
This is coming two and a half months to the end of the administration will end by May 29th, 2023.
Umahi performed the inauguration on Wednesday at the State Executive Council Chambers Government House Abakaliki.
The 30 new Special Assistants were appointed out of the initial 64 Coordinators that were dissolved last Monday.
He named the newly appointed Special Assistants to include Mr. Augustina Nkechi Nwaovu, Obinna Nwaiboko, Mr. Baron Anya, Innocent Eluu (m), Chima Nnachi Okoro (m, ), Eze Ama Okoro (m), Victor Nwaobasi (m), and Mr Elias Igwe.
Others include Mr. Ikechukwu Nwafor, Kingsley Akam (m), Theodore Iheta (m), Emmanuel Ekuma (m), Martin Anari-Chinedu Oga (m), and Mr John Ogodo among others.
The State Chief Executive restated that the Special Assistants were to be deployed to project sites of the State government.
Meanwhile, Governor Umahi has set up a Transition Committee to liaise with the incoming government, on programmes that will shape the inauguration of the incoming administration.
The Transition Committee is Chaired by the Secretary to the State Government Dr. Kenneth Ugballa, while the co-Chairman and Secretary are Reverend Father Abraham Nwali and Mrs. Chioma Nweze respectively.
Governor Umahi equally directed the Commissioner for Finance Mr. Orlando Nweze, to prepare a Memo for the payment of Severance Allowance to members of the State Executive Council.
