A nurse, Mrs. Ogunnaike Oyinda has counseled Nigerian men and women on the benefit of having sexual intercourse during female menstruation period.
Nurse Oyinda explained that, there was nothing wrong medically having sexual intercourse with a lady on her menstrual period.
She disclosed this recently on her TikTok page.
She maintained that, it is safe and healthy for the female folks to have sexual intercourse during their monthly ovulation cycle, urging men who are not sure of their partner’s health status to use condom.
She added that, having sexual intercourse during menstrual period helps the woman to sleep better and relaxed the feel-good hormones, endorphins.
According to her, the orgasm that comes from that sex, helps relax the uterus and helps to handle the cramps usually associated with menstrual period.
She stressed that, the oxytocin that was released helps to empty the content in the uterus (womb).
She noted that, the semen that was ejaculated contains what is called prostagladin, a chemical that works on the cervix to help to soften it.
She said, “You can have sexual intercourse during menstrual period. What stops you from having sex? Medically, there’s nothing wrong with having sexual intercourse during your menses. It is not unhealthy, it’s not unsafe.
“There’s nothing wrong so as a matter of fact that it has a benefit. It helps you sleep better, it helps you relax. When you have sexual intercourse during your menses, the feel-good hormones are relaxed, the endorphins, those chemicals, they make you feel good. Because menses is usually a time we feel so horrible, crancky you have the urge to kill, you want to strangle somebody you don’t feel good.
“The orgasm that comes from that sex helps relax the uterus (womb). It helps to handle the cramps. Oxytocin is released as well which works on the uterus (womb) it helps it’s empty content. When you have sex as well, that semen that is ejaculated contains what we call prostagladin. It is a chemical that works on the cervix it will help to soften it. Why are you having those cramps, is because the uterus is trying to contract and squeeze out its contents and the cervix is usually slightly. The OX is not that open. prostagladin will now have to soften those cervix and open it a little bit more so that the blood can flow out easily and you will feel less pain.
“You don’t have to worry about, oh I have a vagina dryness. It will give you that natural lubrication that makes the sex comfortable. It is safe, it is healthy. You can get pregnant as well. If you have a short cycle, most times your ovulation comes almost the same time with that menstrual and so you know that sperm cell can survive up to 3 to 5 days. Yes, that is a good time to also get pregnant for the people that have a short cycle.”
Nurse Oyinda, however, enjoined men not to be afraid of contracting infection while having sex with their wives during menstruation, saying menstrual blood is not dirty.
“There is nothing wrong with having sex during menses, menstrual blood is not dirty. The only time you should be afraid of infection is when you are not sure of the health status of your partner, you can also you your condom. The blood is not infectious.
“Some people also said it reduce a man spiritually and kill a man’s destiny and lose focus in life. The only thing you should be thinking of is in terms of infection if her bloodstream is infectious.”
