We’ll Not Condone Insubordination, Laziness, Cultism, D.S Adegbenro ICT Poly Rector Warns New Intakes

ABEOKUTA – The Rector, D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun state, Dr. Goke Raufu has expressed worry over cases of cult clashes in the society which he noted had reduced in the tertiary institutions across the state.

The Rector equally appealed to the parents to keep proper watch on their children and engage them in meaningful activities that would take off the streets.

Dr. Raufu gave the charge during 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony of the school held at the main campus, Eruku, Itori, Ewekoro.

The Rector encouraged the new students to refrain from acts capable of truncating their prospective future endeavours.

Dr. Rauf who reminded the students that the institution was not just a place of learning but a nurturing environment that fosters growth, critical thinking and innovation also advised them to seize the opportunities to expand their horizons and pursue their passion.

The Rector restated the commitment of the institution to work with curriculum, designed to empower the students with tools and insights necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world

“This citadel of learning is a well-disciplined institution where we uphold all tenets of moral uprightness as part of our core values.

“We frown seriously at laziness, insubordination and other act of misconduct. Please refrain from bad eggs that are capable of negatively tainting your character. Cultism and hooliganism are never condoned in institutions higher of learning and D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic is not an exception.”

In a remark, the Institution’s council Chairman, Ambassador Toye Okanlawon announced that plans were on to unveil new state-of-the-art facilities, Introducing cutting-edge programmes, and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance students’ learning experience and career prospects.

Ambassador Okanlawon encouraged the matriculating students to embrace the values of discipline, and critical thinking that would serve them well in their academic and professional pursuits.

In a message the Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, represented by the state coordinator of the board, Mr Abdulhammed Akeem stressed the need for institutions of higher learning to continue to adhere strictly to the admission’s regulations.
