Yewa Youth Association Holds Dialogue With Ogun West Lawmakers
ABEOKUTA – In an efforts to bridge the gap between the youth and their elected representatives, the Yewa Youth Association (YYA) is set to host a landmark event titled “365-Day Stewardship and Youth Dialogue: A Conversation with Yewa 10th National and State Legislators.”
Scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2024, the dialogue aims to foster direct engagement and meaningful conversation between the youth of Yewaland and their state and national legislators.
Endorsed by the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, HRM Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the event underscores its importance and potential impact on the local community.
His support lends significant weight to the dialogue, highlighting its potential to ensure that the voices of the young people in Yewaland are not only heard but also considered in the legislative process.
The distinguished legislators expected to participate in the programme include Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, representing Ogun West Senatorial District; Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade, MHR, Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency; Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, MHR, Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency; Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, Deputy Speaker and Member Representing Yewa South State Constituency; Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju Awoso, Yewa North 1 State Constituency; Hon. Wahab Haruna, Yewa North II State Constituency; Hon. Bisi Oyedele, Idiroko/Ipokia State Constituency; and Hon. Jemil Akingbade, Imeko-Afon State Constituency.
An additional highlight of the Youth-Legislators Dialogue is an Essay Competition for secondary school students within Yewaland.
With over half a million Naira in prizes, the competition, titled “Yewaland of My Dream,” has garnered widespread commendation.
The award ceremony for this competition is one of the key activities lined up for Saturday, promising to inspire and motivate young minds.
The event will be chaired by Professor Rahmon Bello, Chairman of the Yewa People Development Council (YPDC), and will see the attendance of notable Yewa sons and daughters from across the globe.
The presence of such esteemed individuals underscores the collective commitment to enhancing youth engagement and participation in governance.
