2027: Oluomo Solidarity Forum Applauds Ogun APC’s Consensus Strategy, Urges Unity
ABEOKUTA – The Oluomo Solidarity Forum (OSF), a prominent political group in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, has thrown its weight behind the adoption of consensus candidates by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections, describing the move as a vital step toward strengthening party unity and cohesion.
In a press statement released on Monday by its Coordinator, Kolawole Isola, the group commended the leadership of the party in the state, particularly Governor Dapo Abiodun, for endorsing the consensus approach.
According to the forum, the decision reflects a strategic commitment to avoiding internal divisions and fostering collective progress within the party.
OSF, led by former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, emphasized that consensus candidacy remains the most effective path to ensuring harmony within party ranks, especially as political activities intensify ahead of the elections.
The group also used the opportunity to congratulate key candidates who emerged through the consensus arrangement.
These include Senator Solomon Adeola as the APC’s governorship candidate, Hon. Adijat Motunrayo Adeleye for the House of Representatives, and Mr. Abolade Ibrahim Amosu for the Ifo 1 State Constituency Assembly seat.
Reaffirming its political influence built over two decades and five election cycles, the OSF pledged to mobilize widespread grassroots support for all APC candidates during the campaign period.
The forum called on aggrieved aspirants within the party to prioritize collective success over personal ambition.
It urged them to trust in the party’s internal mechanisms for reconciliation and compensation, stressing that unity remains essential for electoral victory.
In the same vein, OSF encouraged those who secured tickets to demonstrate magnanimity in victory by reaching out to fellow contestants and fostering inclusiveness.
The forum warned against internal strife, bickering, and distractions, noting that such issues could weaken the party’s chances at the polls.
“The APC must remain united, cohesive, and strong, without any room for internal divisions as 2027 approaches,” the statement read.
The OSF reiterated its loyalty to the party’s leadership at both federal and state levels, aligning itself with President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abiodun.
It concluded by affirming its commitment to party discipline and its determination to work toward an APC victory across all levels in the upcoming elections.
