Afuape Seeks A Return To National Assembly, Backs Tinubu’s Second Term

ABEOKUTA – The lawmaker, representing Abeokuta South Federal constituency, Hon. Afolabi Afuape has canvassed for the support of his constituents to return to the National Assembly.

Afuape who embarked on sensitization of APC statewide e-registration exercise in his constituency, backed the second term bid of President Bola Tinubu.

Afuape during a ward-to-ward tour to Keesi ward 4 in Abeokuta South local government admonished members to revalidate their membership with the ongoing state-wide E-Registration of APC.

Addressed APC members on Sunday, Afuape emphasized the importance of voters registration, urging APC members and supporters to ensure they are registered, saying, “voters registration is much more important, even more than for you to register as a member of APC.”

While speaking on the second term bid, he said all fingers crossed about the second term, throwing his hat into the ring for a return to the National Assembly, saying, “I hope to go back to the National Assembly as a member of the House of Rep. That will still be determined by God and my people.”

He described the massive turnout as a boost to the APC, noting that it was a show of love to the APC and President Bola Tinubu.

“I’m only thinking that the support given to us as members of Rep by our president is very, very uncommon, and that’s why we need to reciprocate that by mobilising our people en masse to vote for our president for the second time.

“When it comes to elections, we need voters, and as such, voters registration is much more important, even more than for you to register as a member of the APC. That is very key, and that message will be passed across to all and sundry.

“As for my ambition, it will be determined by what my people want. And yes, I hope to go back to the National Assembly as a member of the House of Rep. That will still be determined by God and my people. And to me, my people have spoken, they are telling us we will go back, now we need to go to God to also pray that our own intention should be crowned by Almighty God.

“I want to give glory to Almighty God and I also want to thank the people and God of course to my party people, for showing me love. It’s unquantifiable because what I’m witnessing today is very, very uncommon.

“If people don’t like you, they will not be sharing this. I’m giving glory to Almighty God, and this shows that what we’re doing is something that people are still believing in”.

Afuape also lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his purposeful leadership in Ogun.

Also speaking, the SSA to Governor Abiodun on Health, Dr. Kehinde Ololade commended the commitment of Hon. Afolabi Afuape particularly on his grassroots empowerment and mobilisation strength.

He encouraged those who have not registered for PVC to seize the opportunity now to register for their PVC.

“Those that for one reason or another have changed their addresses, they’ve changed their location, they’ve changed their jobs, and their jobs are taking them from one voter region to another and those who maybe have misplaced cards or have any issues with their voter registration to seize this opportunity and also register”.
