Deputy Senate President Appoints Ex-Ogun PDP Youth Leader, Suco As Senior Legislative Aide, Applauds Senator Yayi

ABEOKUTA — Barely three months he resigned as the PDP Youth Leader in Ogun State, Oyejide Sunkanmi otherwise known as Suco has been appointed by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau as Senior Legislative Aide.
Suco’s appointment was contained in a letter dated 4th May, 2026 and signed by Essien Eyo Essien, Secretary, Human Resources and Staff Development of the National Assembly.
Oyejide while appreciating the gesture, expressed profound appreciation to the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, for facilitating his appointment as Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Senate President.
Oyejide described the appointment as a life-changing opportunity and praised Senator Adeola, widely known as Yayi, for his consistent commitment to youth empowerment and political mentorship.
According to him, Senator Adeola has continued to distinguish himself as a compassionate and visionary leader dedicated to grooming the next generation of leaders through deliberate mentorship and empowerment initiatives.
He further compared the senator’s leadership style to that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that many young Nigerians now see hope and opportunity in public service because of leaders who believe in rewarding loyalty, dedication, and excellence.
Oyejide stated that the appointment reflects Senator Adeola’s confidence in young people and his determination to create opportunities for emerging political leaders in Ogun State and beyond.
The newly appointed aide also expressed confidence in Senator Adeola’s leadership capacity, saying the senator’s emergence as governor in 2027 would bring accelerated development to Ogun State in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, economic growth, and human capital development.
While thanking the senator for the opportunity, Oyejide pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him and to serve diligently in his new role.
