Ogun Gov’ship Election: NNPP Heads To Tribunal, Files Petition Against INEC, Abiodun, APC
ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State chapter of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) on Thursday finally filed a petition at the Ogun State Election Petition Tribunal to beat the deadline for submission.
In a Suit No: EPT/OG/GOV/01/2023 has the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prince Dapo Abiodun and All Progressives Congress (APC) as defendants.
NNPP is challenging the outcome of the March 18th Governorship Election in Ogun State.
Recall that, the Ogun state Tribunal ruled in favor of NNPP in an ex parte motion to inspect, scan and photocopy all materials used during the Governorship Election in Ogun state including BIVAS and Ballot Papers.
The Petition according to the affidavit deposed by the Ogun State Chairman Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday rested on the fact that the name of NNPP was omitted on the ballot.
The party argued that, its logo and name was missing on the ballot papers used for the March 18, 2023 governorship.
Speaking to our reporter on a telephone interview, Oginni accused the electoral umpire, INEC of deliberately omitting name and logo of his party to favour Governor Abiodun and APC.
