Alake Charges New FCE Council Members, Management On Upgrading Of College To University

ABEOKUTA – The Paramount ruler, and Alake of Egbaland HRM, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has charged members of the 8th Governing Council and the Management of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta to work assiduously towards actualizing the upgrading of the Institution to a University of Education.

Oba Gbadebo gave the charge during a courtesy visit paid to his Palace by the new Council members of the Institution in his palace, Ake, Abeokuta, saying he was optimistic that the institution would become a University of Education under their watch.

“I pray that under this council, the palace will be invited to come and celebrate that FCE Abeokuta has been upgraded to a University of Education. I also Pray that as they are nurturing other children as loco parentis, their children will also be nurtured and taken care of,” Alake said.

He emphasized that the institution is blessed with efficient and effective Lecturers and seasoned Non-Teaching Staff as well as the state of the arts facilities to achieve her aims and objectives.

Earlier in his speech, the Provost of the institution, Dr. R A Soyele appreciated the fatherly role being played by the Monarch towards the institution, calling for his continuous support and royal blessings to succeed.

The Chairman, Alex Eyengho, who led the team of the Governing Council and members of the College promised his Royal Majesty that they had been appointed to add value to the college and leverage on what was on ground.

Eyengho said, “we shall not be far from the Palace. we shall work together for the common good of the College. we are here to listen to you, get instructions and directive from you.”
