ABEOKUTA – A two-day free medical outreach and empowerment programme facilitated by the member representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka — GNI has brought relief to over 2,000 constituents in the area.
The medical outreach, held in collaboration with the Maryam Babangida National Center for Women Locations Federal, Abuja, was held in Ilara, Imeko-Afon LG and Eggua in Yewa North LG
While the outreach was primarily designed to cater to the elderly population, it also attracted the participation of youths and children within the Constituency.
The event attracted participation from a large number of constituents, providing them with the opportunity to consult with qualified medical professionals and access essential healthcare resources free of charge.
The comprehensive free medical services offered during the exercise include blood pressure checks, eye tests and free eyeglasses, teeth polishing and cleansing, sugar level testing, free consultations, routine medical check-ups, and the distribution of medications.
According to the Senior Legislative Aide to Isiaka, Hon. Razaq Oduntan, the exercise was a demonstration of the federal lawmaker’s commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of his community and improving the quality of life for the residents of Yewa North/Imeko-Afon.
He assured that the exercise will become a regular occurrence, adding that the health and well-being of his constituents, particularly the elderly, remains Isiaka’s priority.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the initiative, noting its potential impact on public health in the Constituency.
They encouraged similar efforts from other elected officials and organizations to supplement the existing healthcare infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the capacity building and empowerment of youths in Agriculture Business in Yewa North/ Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, was held earlier in the week, with over 400 beneficiaries, at the Afobaje Hotel, Ayetoro Ogun state.
The Empowerment program was in partnership with Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan.
