UNIOSUN Dissociates From Fake Vacancy Advert Circulating On Social Media

OSOGBO – The management of Osun State University, UNIOSUN has disowned a viral advertisement circulating on social media claiming to be vacancies for both academic and non-academic staff vacancies in the institution.

A statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji stated that the institution’s advertisements are not placed on social media but in national dailies.

Adesoji noted that there is currently no massive recruitment into the university, hence such fake advert should be ignored by the public.

The statement read, “The attention of the Management of Osun State University has been drawn to the message circulating in various social media platforms that the University is embarking on massive job recruitment into the academic and non academic positions.

“We hereby state categorically that the signatory to the advertisement, Dr J.A. Faniran is not the current Registrar of the University which means the advertisement is likely to be an old advertisement or fake which should be discarded and ignored by the general public, especially job seekers.

“The fraudulent advertisement is just another means to defraud the unsuspecting public.

“Furthermore, it presupposes that whoever brings such old advertisement back to circulation has a motive of misleading and misinforming the public for his/her selfish interests.

“To this end, the management of Osun State University wishes to reiterate that there is currently no massive recruitment into the University.

“The advertisement is fake in its entirety and should be ignored by the general public,” Adesoji stated.
