Horror! Gunmen Attack Funeral Convoy, Abduct Mourners, Demand ₦50 Million Ransom

LOKOJA – A funeral procession conveying the remains of late FRSC Deputy Corps Commander Augustine O. Ikwue to Benue State for burial turned tragic after suspected gunmen ambushed the convoy along the Ososo–Ajaokuta road in Kogi State.

The attackers abducted several mourners and initially took the deceased’s body before later abandoning it, where it was recovered near Ejule.

The kidnapped mourners remain in captivity, with the abductors reportedly demanding ₦50 million for their release.

The shocking incident has sparked renewed concerns over insecurity, as many lament that even a funeral procession was not spared.
